The Door County Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce the details for their annual investors meeting and luncheon on Tuesday, April 30, at the Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay. The keynote speaker will be US Congressman Reid Ribble. His remarks will discuss “Five Friction Point of Our Economy.”
In addition to the keynote address by Ribble, the annual investors meeting will include the presentation of the Door County Industry of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. The Industry of the Year Award recognizes a construction, service or manufacturing business that has made a substantial impact on the community and enjoyed significant accomplishments during the past year. The Entrepreneur of the Year Award celebrates those individuals who have taken the initiative to start and grow a successful small business in Door County. The luncheon meeting will also include the annual report to the community about the accomplishments of DCEDC during 2012.
Representative Reid Ribble is a third generation and lifelong Wisconsin resident. Born in Neenah and graduating from Appleton East High School, Reid followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the family’s small roofing business; he worked his way up to president in 1981. Reid ran the company for more than three decades and turned it into one of the most successful roofing companies in the United States.
Representative Ribble serves on the Budget Committee, the Agriculture Committee, and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. He has been happily married to his wife DeaNa for 38 years. They have two children and two grandchildren.
The DCEDC annual investors meeting will start promptly at 12pm. Tickets for the April 30 luncheon are $30 per person or $280 for a table of ten. Tickets are available from the DCEDC office.
