Transportation

Any business owner knows that transportation is an important factor in an area’s business climate. For many years, DCEDC has taken the lead to improve the local transportation infrastructure. The theme of the DCEDC 2006 Annual Investors Meeting was “Celebrating Local Transportation Improvements.”

Among the improvements highlighted by our keynote speaker, State Transportation Department Secretary Frank Busalacchi, included the expansion of Highway 57 to four lanes between Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay; the construction of the new bridge crossing for the Sturgeon Bay canal; the rehabilitation of the historic Michigan Street bridge; and other state-funded transportation initiatives.
